Voice Over Marketing – a.k.a. How to get (more) Voiceover Auditions

by | Dec 5, 2012 | 0 comments

Voiceover Marketing is not something I have spent any time on.  At all.  This is pretty simple because I am not a voice actor.  And yet, with all those well-intended “putting the cart before the horse” students of mine, it’s the first thing they ask, even before they inquire about training.  “How can I get voiceover auditions?”  “How will I get a voiceover agent?”  “When will I make my voiceover demo and who do I send it to?”  The questions that go beyond the technique of voiceovers into the actual business and marketing of your voice are endless.  And so is the work associated with it.  Like any self-employed person, you will have to work, yes work, to promote yourself.  Jobs will not come to you.  And yet, the vast amount of work to do, and how to go about doing it, seems overwhelming.  I don’t necessarily know if I have ever seen the perfect guidebook for this yet, but a few names keep popping up on the voiceover stratosphere that seem worth mentioning here.  I have included a link to a specific article that is connected to the concept of voiceover marketing, but the site in general seems to offer more on the subject beyond the specific link.  So feel free to explore and good luck learning how to get your voice “heard.”
